Normally, So You Think You Can Dance would be the last thing about which I would write a blog post. This year, however, Chelsie Hightower finds herself in the running for America’s Favorite Dancer, and because we love the Hightowers Kim and I would like to show our support.

Chelsie Hightower

So far she seems to be one of the judges’ favorites. Her Mia Michaels contemporary routine on the first episode was incredible, and while the Argentine Tango was slightly less engaging, it was still performed very well. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that she can keep bringing the heat as the competition rolls forward.

At any rate, join the cause and send a few votes her way each week on Wednesday nights as she dances to impress the judges and the viewers.

It’s my first post! Andrew got the blog all set up for me and I just now decided to use it.  We just got back from our big trip to the Washington coast on Sunday. We had three vehicles, two minivans and our little Corolla, to get all 14 (almost 15) of us up there. It was a long drive–16 hours each way. That’s a lot of driving! However, we didn’t do it all at once. Luckily, we stopped in Boise going and coming to keep the three kiddos happy.

Anyways, enough talk about driving…the trip was a lot of fun! I was a little sad about saying goodbye to the sun for an entire week, but it managed to poke through the clouds every once in a while–giving us at least one or two sunny-ish days. Our trip definitely made me really appreciate the sunshine, and I am pretty sure (despite what Andrew says) that I don’t want to move to the northwest.

However, it is a really fun place to visit! We stayed at a little beach house just down the road from a very pretty beach. We also saw some lighthouses (Cape Disappointment and North Head), the Astoria Column, and went on our own little Goonies tour where saw Mikey’s house and haystack rock! It was pretty cool! We also rode mopeds on the beach in the wind and rain, which was probably more fun because of the rain; unfortunately I have no pictures of us in our cute red helmets riding our cute red mopeds–you’ll have to use your imagination on that one. Here are some pictures that I do have…
