Quick trip to Vegas

We went to Las Vegas a couple of weekends ago for an open house for Kellie and McKay’s wedding (Andrew’s little sister and her husband who is from there). We went down for one day and one night. It was a short trip, but it was still fun. After loading my pictures onto the computer I realized we didn’t even get pictures of the open house…the reason we went there in the first place. That could’ve been due to the fact that Andrew was outside the entire time trying to fix a hole in our tire from a nail that we ran over. He bought a kit from Wal-Mart designed for fixing holes in tires and it really worked! It was also a lot cheaper than paying someone else to do it. Thank you Wal-Mart!

Here we are at the Venetian just after eating some gelato.

Caesar’s Palace

James staring at the giant dinosaur at FAO Schwartz. You can see he’s pretty wet. I poured water on him to cool him off from the Vegas heat.

James thought the giant piano was kinda cool–he would have been just as entertained playing with his new favorite toys: the spoons and spatulas from the kitchen.

Last Friday night I went with my sisters (in-law) to the Martina McBride concert. I love my boys but it was really nice to have a girls night. Martina (we’re on a first-name basis) has such an amazing voice; you know someone’s really talented when they sound that good live. We also had fun watching people. It was interesting to see what people chose to wear to the event; one girl had on a blue (very short) formal, with diamond earrings…interesting choice to be sitting on the lawn at a concert. We also enjoyed watching two drunk ladies not far from us who didn’t know the words, but made actions and tried to sing along to every song. We couldn’t really see Martina from where we were sitting so it was nice to have some up-close entertainment and gave us some good laughs.

After the concert I met up with my mom, sister Kristen, and Shirley to go to the Breaking Dawn release party (though we missed the party) at the Gateway where we met up with my cousins. After making our purchases we went to IHOP for a midnight meal. It was a late night…or early morning, getting myself to bed at about 4am.

Waiting for the concert to begin.

We tried about fifteen times (really four or five) to get a funny-face picture with all four of our faces in it. Krista’s head kept getting cut off. This was the best one.
