Spring 2009!

Spring of 2009: Andrew’s graduation. It seemed so far away at one time, and now it has come and gone. It is so strange to me that Andrew is actually done! He graduated last Friday with his Master’s degree in Information Systems. We have been looking forward to his graduation for so long that it is strange to think we won’t be counting down the years, months, days to the big day.  It was a little emotional for me to watch him walk and receive his degree. I just had a flashback of all of the late nights and stress and…everything! He’s done!

Andrew would never brag about himself, but I can. My husband is so dedicated to everything he does. He was able to complete all of his undergraduate schooling with academic scholarships and graduated with distinction. What a smarty pants! I’m so proud of him!

James has so much energy. He was constantly running away from us, so we had to strap him into his stroller. Here he is tied down.

I went into James’s room on Easter morning and took a few pictures of him. He had his eyes closed in all three pictures; this was the best of the three. I was laughing. I don’t think his eyes were quite ready for the flash.

Eating jelly beans. He and his daddy went straight for the candy.

Officially ready for our cruise now! Andrew is too busy chewing on his jelly beans to smile.

A new purse for me!

It was hard to get a good picture of James in his Easter outfit. He’s always on the move.

James has the cutest way of greeting people: “He-ey”. He draws out the “e” when he says “hey” and it is so funny…it kind of sounds like he’s trying to hit on someone; and sometimes he’ll start a sentence (his new thing as of last week!) with it.  One of his favorite games right now is asking, “where (object or person) go?” Usually it’s a ball or a car he’s asking about, but either way, he can play the game over and over… and over again. He’ll throw the object and then hold out his arms with a dead-serious look on his face and say, “where ball go?” We took a walk the other day and James had to stop by every car we passed and say, “Hey, where car go?” As slow as the walk was, I’ll miss the cute game of hearing the same old question; and as old as the question is, this post is in honor of James: “Hey, where James go?”

James is getting so big so fast. He loves to eat meals on the bar stool instead of his highchair, which makes him seem so old. Where did my baby go?

I found him watching TV one day like this… So cute.

Something New

We are in our new (temporary) home! We’ve taken over my in-laws house. They have been so nice to let us live here for the next 3-4 months. I feel bad that we’ve taken over their entire upstairs and family room and fridge and pantry space!!! The good thing about it is that it feels like home and has been very comfortable for us. Our bedroom has been freshly painted and, after having such nasty walls for our entire married lives, it’s kind of a luxury. It feels so clean and new–even though this was once Andrew’s room back in the day and not new at all. James is right next door to us, which is nice because the first couple of nights he woke up screaming…a little confused about where he was. Other than that, he has adjusted to the move better than I expected. I think it helps that he was already very familiar with the house…and of course the people in it:).

I’ve taken some cute pictures of James getting used to his new home, but unfortunately we aren’t uploading pictures onto this computer anymore; we have a new computer for all of that but, until school ends–at the end of this week–Andrew constantly has it with him or is using it. So, pictures will have to wait until then. For those of you wondering where we moved…now you know. My next post will be a little more interesting, hopefully!
